The Central Maryland Association of .NET Professionals Certification Study group is a special interest group. The group focuses on study for the preperation to take the Microsoft certifications. It is free and open to the public.

The group is divided into two separate study sessions. Both sessions meet on the same dates. The details on the sessions are shown below. The meetings are open to anyone who is interested in becoming certified as well as those who just desire to follow the course materials and learn.

The group chooses a particular exam preperation book(s) to study throughout the group season. Participants are encouraged to choose chapters from the book to present to the group at the meetings.

At the meeting we have general reviews, presentations, question and answer sessions and refreshments.

Our Certification Study Group meeting are ALWAYS the Second and Fourth Thursday of the month unless noted in the meeting announcement. The meetings run from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM. The group meets from fall through early summer and takes a break during the summer months.

The Certification Study Group meeting is held at the TEKsystems in Linthicum (please review the schedule of meetings to get directions).

This season (2008 - 2009), the study group has chosen to study two different exams. Therefore, all members will will meet on the meeting dates and will break into two separate groups. Those groups are shown below.

This Season, the CMAP Certification Study Group (Group #1) is studying the Professional Certification Series on SharePoint Services 3.0. The group is studing the book - 'Inside Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 (Pro Developer)'. The book can be purchased through any source and is available from Amazon.com through the link shown to the right.

The group will practice on a virtual PC image that is available here. The VHD contains a fully working version of Windows Sharepoint Services 3.0 and will function until September 30, 2009. Participants in this study group are expected to have this virtual image in order to perform exercises and practice lessaons.
