The Tablet PC represents a whole new form factor for mobile computing. More powerful than a PDA and lighter than the average laptop, Tablets can be put to use in situations that traditionally have been paper based.

About Frank La Vigne - During the course of his career, Frank La Vigne has developed software solutions for such firms as Merrill Lynch, Deutsche Bank, BASF Corporation, and KPMG.

While at Deutsche Bank, he directed a team of five developers and coordinated the design and implementation of Java servlet modules in ATG Dynamo for a $500 million multinational retail banking portal project.

Since 2002, he has shifted his efforts towards the .NET Framework and has already worked on several major .NET projects, including an electronic shareholder voting system, web authentication service, and a Tablet PC based medical data entry system.

Most recently, Microsoft Awarded him MVP status for the field of Tablet PCs.

Prior to moving to Northern Virginia, I lived in Richmond where I served as president of the .NET User Group and co-found of the SQL Server User Group.

SQL Server 2005 Mini-Series - Exposing SQL Server 2005 data via Web Services

The ability to expose our data via standard web services technologies is a new feature of SQL Server 2005. This mini series topic will explain and demonstrate how such web services are created on the SQL Server 2005 and how they are consumed by any web service client application. In addition, some of the .NET-specific features that SQL Server 2005 web services technologies will also be discussed.
