Jeremy Kadlec

Bio

Jeremy Kadlec is the Principal Database Engineer at Edgewood Solutions, a technology services company delivering full spectrum Microsoft SQL Server services in North America. Jeremy contributes to MSSQLTIPS.com, which is a SQL Server focused web site from Edgewood Solutions. In addition, he has authored numerous articles and white papers on various SQL Server topics, serves as an “Ask the Expert” at www.SearchSQLServer.com and delivers frequent presentations at regional SQL Server Users Groups and nationally at SQL PASS. Jeremy is the co-leader of the Northern Virginia SQL Server Users Group. He is the author of The Rational Guide to IT Project Management which has been well received in the IT community. Jeremy holds a Master’s Degree in Information Systems from The University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC).

Bio

Osama A. Morad has over 20 years of computer and programming experience. He programmed extensively in C, UNIX, and Java and has been teaching and developed applications in .NET and C# since 2001. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from George Mason University and a Master of Art Degree in Instructional Development Systems from University of Maryland, Baltimore County. Jay Flowers is the creator of the CI Factory open source project. He contributed the CI Factory section to the book Windows Developer Power Tools. John Baird

Bio

John Baird began his computer programming career while in the US Navy. In 1982, he helped form and direct the first PC-based computer processing department for training and manpower in the Department of Defense. After leaving the military in 1988, John began a varied career as a consultant developing business applications ranging from computer-based training to vertical market software for resellers. Today, John is working for the industry leader in financial software for fund administration. He is currently pursuing his PhD and is developing a web-based business presence using ASP.NET technologies.

Chad Boyd

Bio

Chad is an Advisory Support Engineer / Premier Engineer for Sql Server and Clustered systems with Microsoft Corporation responsible for providing onsite and remote support, guidance, and advice with SQL Server products to some of Microsoft's foremost enterprise customers running the largest, most complex SQL Server installations and configurations in the world. This includes all SQL Server products and versions, including SQL Server 7.0, 2000, and 2005, the SQL Server database engine, Reporting Services, SSIS/DTS, Notification Services, and Analysis Services on both 32 and 64 bit systems. Chad's primary responsibilities include troubleshooting critical server situations, performance tuning and monitoring, disaster recovery planning and execution, architectural guidance for new Sql Server related deployments, and delivering deep technical workshops/presentations/proof-of-concept sessions covering a variety of technologies and functionality. Chad regularly posts Sql Server related content, tools, and advice on his MSDN blog at http://blogs.msdn.com/chadboyd, and presents/attends regularly at local DC user groups and events, particularly the Northern Virginia Sql Server user group (http://www.novasql.com). Bio

Michael Pastore is the Principal Engineer at Blue Spider Analytics, Inc, where he is leading the development of smart clients for network analysis. Michael has served as an architect and developer on projects for numerous government agencies. He has been developing in .Net since 2001 in both the web and windows environments. He holds degrees in art, math, and computer science and is MCAD, MCSD, and MCPD (Web) certified.

Warren Steger

Bio

Mr. Steger is a Sr. Business Analyst with Applied Information Sciences, Inc. and has been working in the IT industry for over 25 years. He holds certifications in the Rational Unified Process (RUP) and has been trained as a Scrum Product Owner and Scrum Master. He works with clients to develop best practices in application lifecycle management (ALM), focusing on the requirements definition and management (RDM), functional testing, and project management practices. He has worked with the RUP product team to develop enhancements to the data modeling process guidance, the initial .NET plug-in for RUP, and the Rational Configuration for .NET Developers (RCND). Mr. Steger is a member of the DC Metro Chapter of the International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA).

Rob Wuhrman

Bio

Robert Wuhrman has been employed at the American Institutes for Research since 1999 where he is currently the technology lead for AIR's clearinghouse efforts. He's led and directly participated in the evolution of an integrated supply chain, eCommerce, marketing, and call center platform utilizing technologies built on both the family of Microsoft classic products as well as Microsoft Dynamics GP and CRM. His current project involves implementing a collaborative campaign management center built on the MOSS 2007 platform. The solution will improve collaboration and provide an interrelated view into important data points from the clearinghouse effort with the intent of improving operational transparency and analytical capabilities for AIR clients. When not working on computers Rob enjoys vegging out with a decent Seinfeld re-run or spending time with his wife and 16 year old dog, Doogie. He is co-founder of a SharePoint Study group in Montgomery County, Maryland.

Edwin Ames has been developing software for 10+ years. He has written solutions for many industries including Corporate Relocation and Insurance, and is an occasional speaker at DotNet events. Bio

Ed Mullin is a Senior Project Manager and Business Intelligence expert for AIS and is based in their Columbia, MD office. He has over 20 years of professional experience in Information Technology in the Baltimore area. Currently he manages the design/development of custom business solutions for companies like Becton Dickinson, Under Armour, Geico and Streuver Brothers, Eccles and Rouse utilizing Microsoft Technologies such as SharePoint, ASP.Net, PerformancePaoint Server, Business Scorecard Manager, Analysis Services and Proclarity. Ed is active in the local .Net development community and serves as President of BaltoMSDN and Vice President of CMAP. Ed lives on a farm in Northern Baltimore County with his wife and 5 kids (and numerous robots).

Geoff Snowman

Bio

Geoff Snowman is an integration specialist with Microsoft Corporation. In this role, he works with customers who are deploying service-oriented architecture, web services, integration tools, and mainframe integration. His technical expertise includes BizTalk Server and .NET programming. Geoff has been a computer geek since the time that dinosaurs, or at least card punch machines, roamed the earth. He’s been with Microsoft for six years, in a variety of consulting and evangelism roles. Geoff’s hobbies include supporting the Baltimore Ravens and attending user group meetings.

Bob Garrant

Bio

Bob has 30+ years of Information Technology experience, in a variety of roles including Director, Program Manager, Project Manager, Systems Analyst, and Technical Consultant. Bob has managed large complex technical programs while formulating and implementing advanced technology and business solutions. As the Director of Business Intelligence, Bob is managing multiple project teams engaged in various stages of implementing Business Intelligence solutions. The project activities include creation of key performance indicators (KPIs), definition of business processes, documentation of information and data requirements, design and development of data warehouses, provision of reporting and analysis capabilities, as well as design and delivery of balanced scorecards and executive dashboards. In addition, Bob is serving as the senior management consultant for a long-term Business Intelligence initiative for an organization that funds affordable housing throughout the US. Bob’s team of senior technical resources is developing a data warehouse infrastructure to support internal executive and operational reporting and data analysis, as well as external reporting for large investors and local, state and federal agencies.
