Why Does Code Camp Need Contributors?
CMAP is a volunteer run, contributor supported group dedicated to the growth of the development community in the Maryland area. Your contribution to CMAP is instrumental in building the community – we cannot do it without your support. CMAP reaches over 500 people and is rapidly growing. Exposure to this community is essential for any organization.
CMAP is offering companies an opportunity to promote its products and services to a group of highly-motivated professionals by making a contribution to CMAP’s Code Camp 2008 Spring Edition.
This event is free to anyone wishing to attend. However, an event like this is not cheap to organize. There are charges for food, facilities, promotion and equipment. As a contributor, you'll help to offset these costs, and in exchange, get great exposure to a group of passionate, motivated IT and development professionals.

So, what is a CMAP Code Camp?
A CMAP Code Camp is a one day conference with 25 sessions covering a range of topics mostly aimed at developers using Microsoft technologies. We anticipate 150 software professionals from Maryland, Virginia, Washington D.C. and Pennsylvania to attend this event. CMAP’s first two Code Camps have been very successful. Feedback and experiences from everyone involved has been extremely positive.
A Code Camp is a unique type of community event all about software developers and the code they create. Code Camps are defined by and adhere to the following Manifesto defined by Thom Robbins, New England District Community Developer Evangelist for Microsoft:
- By and For the Developer Community
- Always Free
- Community Developed Material
- No Fluff – Only Code
- Community Ownership
- Never occur during work hours
